Storage Omnitrope®

Omnitrope should be stored at controlled room temperature between 2°C and 8°C (36°F and 46°F) before reconstitution. After reconstitution, the solution should be used immediately or refrigerated at 2°C to 8°C (36°F to 46°F) and used within 14 days. Care should be taken to avoid freezing or shaking the medication.

Omnitrope® is typically administered via subcutaneous injection. The dosage and frequency of administration depend on the patient’s age, weight, and the condition being treated. It’s important for patients to receive proper training on how to self-administer the injections or have a caregiver who can assist them.

Omnitrope® contains somatropin, which is a synthetic form of human growth hormone (hGH). Somatropin is identical to the naturally occurring growth hormone produced by the pituitary gland.

More serious side effects such as allergic reactions, pancreatitis, and intracranial hypertension are rare but possible.

some Side Effects

Patients receiving Omnitrope therapy require regular monitoring by a healthcare professional to assess growth velocity (in pediatric patients), hormone levels, and potential side effects. Adjustments to dosage may be necessary based on these evaluations.

Precautions

Special caution should be exercised when prescribing Omnitrope to patients with a history of intracranial lesions, diabetes mellitus, or other underlying medical conditions. Close monitoring of glucose levels is recommended in patients with diabetes.
